Following in the Family’s Footsteps

Ryan Ennis sees echoes of his father's and grandfather's work ethic and values in his role as a Regional Director supporting the financial futures of others.

My name's Ryan Ennis. I'm a Regional Director and a Vice President in the Global Client Group here at Dimensional. I work in the Charlotte, North Carolina office, and I've been at Dimensional now about eight years, working with institutional investors and investment consultants. What brought me to Dimensional was the investment philosophy and the guiding principles. They very much align with my own personal values, and most of my personal values come from my parents and my grandparents. My grandfather, who was a lawyer, and he represented railroad workers and their workers' comp claims versus the very large railroad companies. The main values that my grandfather imparted to my father and me were really just the integrity and the hard work and standing up for others. I work with institutional clients and institutional consultants primarily, and I find that work to be very gratifying work. It's the work that my dad did. He was an institutional investment consultant, and the work that he did was so meaningful in the sense, these end investors are school teachers, police officers, firefighters, tradespeople. So there's a great deal of meaning in that work. That's what makes me so excited to come into work every day at Dimensional and makes that work so gratifying is to be able to not just work with our institutional clients and consultants, but also to uphold those family values that have been imparted to me.
