Dimensional Launches Global High Profitability Trust

Dimensional Fund Advisors, a global leader in systematic investing, continues to expand its suite of global equity funds with the launch of the Dimensional Global High Profitability Trust, the first standalone Dimensional trust available to Australian investors focusing exclusively on companies with high profitability.

Valuation theory suggests that differences in relative prices and expected profitability are linked to expected returns. Holding all else equal, firms with higher expected profitability have higher expected returns.

Dimensional has implemented the profitability premium in equity solutions for over a decade. The addition of this new Global High Profitability Trust provides investors with access to a diversified exposure to large capitalisation high profitability companies listed in developed markets outside Australia.

"Investors now have access to an enhanced tool kit,” Bhanu Singh, Dimensional Australia’s CEO said. “This new Dimensional fund allows clients to fine-tune their exposure to companies with high profitability and build a customised exposure to size, value and profitability premiums. It’s another example of combining robust research with thoughtful daily implementation to deliver solutions designed to support our clients’ objectives.”

In 2013, Professor Robert Novy-Marx published an influential paper that showed profitability is a long-term reliable driver of differences in expected stock returns. From 2015, Dimensional incorporated this research on profitability into equity portfolios, including Dimensional’s equity Trusts.

"We continue to expand our investment offering to meet demand from financial professionals.” Nathan Krieger, who heads Dimensional’s client group in Australia said. “For nearly four decades, Dimensional has built its investment offering thoughtfully and systematically, taking time to understand our clients’ evolving needs and identifying where we can add value, ultimately aiming for both a better investment experience and higher returns.”
