Turning a Passion into a Purpose

Even from growing up as a kid, environmental sustainability, biodiversity have been so important to me, and getting to merge those with my passion around math and finance has been just an incredible experience, incredible growth for me over my life. My name is Lacey Huebel, and I'm Head of Responsible Investment North America and a Portfolio Manager at Dimensional Fund Advisors. I worked on our general firm philosophy and strategy towards responsible investment, which encompasses both our social responsible strategies as well as our environmental sustainability strategies. There's so many times I've had conversations with investors where they don't even realize that they can have this type of control over their own investments. ESG Investing can help investors invest in line with their values while still being able to accomplish their investment goals as well. We don't have to compromise our investment philosophy in order to implement our ESG strategies. I think there's a lot of ways within my own life that I really try to incorporate more sustainable practices. I certainly buy local where I can buy organic, I drive electric. People see me roll up in my electric car and they'll they'll point it out 'cause it's very in line with what I do here as well. I feel so fortunate to be able to work in this role where I'm really aligning something I'm very passionate about personally with what I get to do professionally on a day-to-day basis is pretty incredible.
